Sukabumi is one of the biggest cities in Java island, but little people know about what's special about this town. If you're some of whom interested to know, below are some important facts that might interest you.
First fact is you will find
it hard to be on time as traffic jams is can be quite terrific, especially in industrial area of the towm.
On some busy days, it will take you much time than it needed for just going to some near places. Beside, some Sukabumians believe that being late a half hour
or one is normal. Sadly. Second fact, you will see
some amateur musician or "pengamen". Most of them will perform song with ukulele in a public transport and will
ask you for money. Sometimes, they will force you whether you want to give or not and can be quite scary. Third fact is almost everyday you will see all the Supermarkets are full. Half of them are students and the others are some
house wives. Sometimes they were not shopping, they just walking around while
touch everything in the market. "Style first",
maybe that's what they thought. Four fact is you will never stand in line
in peace, especially in the hospital. Although we already have a queue number,
some people (most of them who were the bossy ones) will snatch
your chance without feeling guilty. What an attitude! But the last fact might be
contrary with all those above, and it is you will never be starving there. "The full our
stomach, the happier our mind be" is what most Sukabumians believe. You don't
need to worry about food in this city. There are a lot of either traditional or
modern food courts every five meters. Those, in short are several facts that outsiders should consider in knowing about my small yet big town, Sukabumi.
