     Are you familiar with the “Do you want to play a game?” quote? Well if you do, you must be have a good taste in horror movies. But don’t worry if you don't. Because I can help you with that. Nowadays horror plays an important role in the movie industries. There are many horror movies that made with big budget. Some of it had been in box office, even there were several movies, actors or even the horror film makers had won Grammy Award. It means that horror genre is very important and worth an attention. Most people said that if the movies are terrifying or have ghosts or zombies in it, is horror movies. Well that’s right of course. But little people know what kind of horror movies they watch. Because actually there are three kinds of horror movies : Softcore, Hardcore and Disturbing Horror.

     The very first class of horror movies is the softcore. Softcore means the first class of horror movie. It still presents scenes that can be tolerated by all audiences. No bloody or any other terrifying scenes in it. Although if it has, it will be shown just a second or so. This genre is suitable for all people, both ordinary, horror addicts and of course horror freaks. The softcore horror like this can be found in films like I Know What You Did Last Summer, Scream franchises, A Nightmare on Elm Street or in Indonesia, Suzanna’s Beranak dalam Kubur. 

     The second one is called Hardcore horror. In this genre we will see some bloody scene without any sensor in it. Not only showing the sadistic scenes that feast our eyes, it is also giving a real psychological effect to the audience. Hardcore films like this are devoted to horror addicts who have a sense for brutal film that erode their eyes and fear. This kind of movies are common to have good reviews on the internet and even get many prestigious awards. Movies like The Silence of the Lambs, Perfume, SAW franchises and Rumah Dara are included in this category. 

     The last and highest degree of horror genre is the disturbing movie, or some people called it a sick movie. Why sick? Because besides offering a high level of brutality scenes, these kind of film will wrench whoever seeing them. There will always be a scenes which seem can't be perform by human being and of course disturbing movie like this is clearly not recommended for some give-it-a-try kind of audiences. Besides of high sadism, disturbing movies is usually extremity controversial and even banned in some countries. Because it attracts less audience or because it was so disturbing. Movies that fall into this category are like The Human Centipede franchises, Salo etc.

     All in all, horror genres can't be underestimated now, because it has played an important role in the movie industries. And not all horror films have a bad influence, because sometimes they contained a moral message that even more deep than in any other movie genres. And for the horror freaks do not just watch entertainment horror or just some "chicken" film. Please take a look at so many cool horror movies out there, especially indie movies that deserve our attention.
