Suicide Squad is an upcoming anti-hero movie based on comic book villains published by Detective Comic. It will officially release on 26th of August 2016. The antihero team will feature Deadshot and the gang, with Batman and his most iconic arch-enemy, the Joker. It is also the first Task Force X and the gang's appearance in big screen. There are many reasons as to why fans are so excited about the movie, but the most excited one is to see Mr. J, as the Joker often called, in big screen again. When Jared Leto announces as the new Joker, most of fans are excited, but there are some who doubt that he will be as good as the late Heath Ledger's portrayal in 2008’s The Dark Knight. As for me, casting Jared Leto as the Joker is a brilliant idea. Why is that? See through paragraphs below.
The first reason why Jared Leto is the perfect cast for the Joker is that he's famous for his total performances on every movie he starred in. Movies like Fight Club, Chapter 21 and Dallas Buyers Club has earned him one of the most talented actor in the film industry. Take a look at the Fight Club. He successfully plays a masculine-cult-follower fighter. His next work, in Chapter 21, he plays a fat John Lennon’s murder, contradictory to his previous portrayal in Fight Club and in his most recent one, Dallas Buyers Club, he potrays a skinny transgender woman. He works out to get muscles first, then he gained weight to get fatter than his real body and then he reduce his weight again. His body transformation is crazy, because there are rarely actors with such skills. According to the fact above most of the fans excitement then changed when his first Joker official photo is released in the internet and showed a tattooed-short-haired Joker. Some fans disappointed at the photo, saying that he is the form of Marylin Manson and Miley Cyrus, which is big mad bad. Most fans said that Joker shouldn't be potrayed in such way while some other say it's a fresh start for the iconic villain. It is true that in all movie, the Joker always been that good dressed clown, but they seemed to forget that in Suicide Squad comics, Mr. J does have some tattoos and dressed differently from his clown features. And for a friendly reminder, Jared Leto will plays the Joker in Suicide Squad Movie.
The Second reason is Jared Leto always succeed to get into his movie character deeply. In Dallas Buyers Club for example, he always wear a woman clothes and act as a woman even in off-screen and before he get to the film scene. The Dallas Buyers Club’s director once said that he didn’t know how to call him, whether Jared or Rayon (his character in that movie), because Jared is really into his character. In Suicide Squad’s set Jared use this unique method too. His co-star said that once Jared sent them strange gifts because he couldn’t attend the filming and especially for Margot Robbie (who plays the Joker’s girlfriend, Harley Quinn), a love letter and a living rat in it. It is not normal for sane person, but for the Joker’s character, its suit him very well. While there are people who might say that he just overrated and seeking attention, but sometimes to get in character an actor always has a different way and as for Jared, his method is a unique and extreme one. Even according to the news, Suicide Squad’s director has hired a therapist in case the actors who all play villains turn out too villainous, especially Jared.
The third and last reason is that Jared Leto is not a new face for Holywood movie industry. He had many awards in his hands. His late movie Dallas Buyers Club, earned him an Oscar for Best Supporting Actor. In that movie he plays the transgender drug-addicted-HIV-victim’s woman and he plays his character amazingly. And as we know that the Oscar is an American trustworthy award for trustworthy actors. That is enough prove that Jared is one of those American skilled actors in movie industry. People might said that Oscar is not a bail for an actor skills, but do you think that an actors who had been proved always plays well in most of his movies, will lost his acting ability unexpectedly? Is he going to lost his ability to act well just because people chose to hate him? Not likely.
In summary people might doubt about Jared’s performance in Suicide Squad, but he is one of the talented actors with well skill and method.
